the BIG questions

Nobody’s asking them anymore are they? You know, those BIG questions about capitalism, feminism, global poverty etc. etc… No? Good, remind me to give those boys in PR a raise. pure genius that’s what this is. Live and learn boys, live and learn… it’s all about re-branding, a few name changes and now the world’s ours again. Globalisation… Globalisation, doesn’t the name have that ring of truth to it? Makes our belief in universal values sound more convincing? Multi-national corporation was ok for the seventies, till they caught on. Then we called ourselves a trans-national corporation, till those agitators started on us again. Shit, corporate globalisation didn’t last very long either. Pure fucking genius to remove the word corporate. Now everybody’s on board again! Just have to keep the pressure on profits… whoops… sorry… I mean universal values! As for those agitators with their banners for truth, just tell them we’re the free world’s new truth. Yeah, one word answers it all. Global poverty? The answer: globalisation. Jobs? Globalisation again. Security, stability, equality, world peace…? Globalisation, globalisation and more fucking globalisation… Wow! I’m even beginning to believe it myself! What? Feminism? Oh, that women’s thing... It’s now passé, isn’t it? That’s what we invented femininity for! C’mon boys, don’t worry, globalisation has already answered all the BIG questions, there’s none left. Now it’s all about universal values with its glowing praises of capitalism… Oops… Sorry again… I mean globalisation, don’t you miss the days when you could just call a spade a spade…?
