Poems I was forced to write...

"The Craft of Poetry"

was a CORE topic,

a non-negotiable must-do,

if I wanted my degree

in creative writing

To my surprise,

my tutor considered what I wrote "publishable".

Hopeful and flushed with pride,

I tried...

Several magazines - and rejections - later,

I declared an end to my career

as a poet.

These few verses I now present,

as testament of my literary delusions.
