Application: Glance Compass — data practices of version 1.0.2 with advertising
The advertising provisions in this policy apply to advertising introduced in version 1.0.2. Existing public release version 1.0.1 does not display advertisements or provide advertising-consent features.
Developer: OHOLIAN
Contact: oholianapps@gmail.com
This document contains Korean and English versions of the same Privacy Policy. The Korean version is the reference version, while the English translation is provided to assist users’ understanding. Nothing in this statement limits any rights provided to users under applicable law.
OHOLIAN (the “Developer”) respects the privacy of users of Glance Compass (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses or processes, how that information is used or shared, and the choices available to users.
1. Information Processed by the App
The App does not require an account or login. The Developer does not directly collect users’ names, telephone numbers, email addresses, contacts, photos, or payment information.
1.1 Location and map features
If the user grants location permission, the App may process the following information:
• The device’s current location (precise or approximate)
• Latitude and longitude
• Altitude
• Location accuracy
• Address or administrative-area information associated with the current location
• The map area currently being viewed
Users may use the basic compass function without granting location permission. Current-location, address, altitude, and map features will be limited when permission is not granted.
If the user actively selects the “Copy location information” feature, the current address, latitude, longitude, and altitude are copied to the device clipboard. The Developer does not transmit or store clipboard information on its own servers. If the user subsequently pastes that information into another app, the privacy policy of that app may apply.
1.2 Information that may be processed by the Maps SDK for Android
The App uses the Google Maps Platform Maps SDK for Android to display maps. To provide, maintain, improve, and secure Google services, the Maps SDK may automatically collect the following information:
• Device metadata, such as operating-system version, device name, model, brand, and form factor
• Maps SDK version information and request metadata
• Stack traces from crashes within the SDK and crash metrics such as abnormal terminations
• IP address
• A Maps SDK-specific pseudonymous identifier
• Depending on the App’s configuration and use of features, map-interaction information such as panning and zooming
When the App displays the current location on a map or recentres the map on that location, information about the current coordinates and map viewport may be processed by Google Maps Platform to the extent necessary to provide the map.
1.3 Advertising and advertising identifiers
Version 1.0.2 displays Google AdMob banner advertisements on the main compass and map screens using the Google Mobile Ads SDK.
Depending on user choices, device settings, and advertising mode, the advertising SDK may collect and share:
• IP address and approximate location inferred from it
• Android advertising ID, app set ID, and applicable device/account identifiers
• App launches, taps, and advertising interactions
• App and SDK performance and diagnostic information
1.4 Advertising privacy choices
The App uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK to determine whether advertising privacy choices are required and to provide consent or privacy-choice forms when needed. Choices and consent status may be stored on the device and communicated to Google and relevant advertising partners identified in the forms so that the choices can be applied.
2. Purposes of Processing
Location information is used to provide the following features:
• Displaying the current latitude, longitude, altitude, and accuracy
• Displaying the address or administrative area of the current location
• Displaying the current location and nearby area on Google Maps
• Recentring the map on the current location
• Copying current-location information to the device clipboard when selected by the user
Google may process Maps SDK information to provide maps, measure SDK usage, maintain and improve services, analyse errors, and protect service security.
Advertising information may be used for ad delivery, advertising measurement and analytics, and fraud prevention. Where permitted, it may also support personalised advertising. Privacy-choice information is processed to record and apply user choices and meet applicable obligations.
The App does not request background location permission and does not use location information to track users while the App is not in use. The App does not attach GPS-derived precise location, latitude and longitude, altitude, or address information obtained for compass and map features to advertising requests. However, the advertising SDK may infer approximate location from the IP address.
3. Storage and Retention
The Developer does not store users’ location information, addresses, or usage history on its own servers. Current location, address, and altitude information is processed temporarily on the device while providing the relevant features. It is not transmitted to or permanently retained on a server operated by the Developer. This does not mean that all information processed independently by Google or other external services stays on the device.
The following preferences may be stored on the user’s device:
• Selected App language
• Light-mode or dark-mode preference
• Magnetic-north or true-north preference
• Whether location permission has previously been requested
• Advertising privacy choices and consent status
These local preferences and information copied to the clipboard by the App may be removed by clearing the App’s data or clipboard, or by uninstalling the App, as applicable. Information processed by external services such as Google Maps Platform, Google AdMob, and relevant advertising partners is retained and deleted according to the policies of the applicable service provider.
4. External Services and Third-Party Processing
The App may use the following external services or device system services to provide its functions.
4.1 Google Play services location functionality
The App may use Google Play services location functionality to determine the device’s current location. Google may process location and related device information according to device settings and Google’s Privacy Policy.
Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
4.2 Android Geocoder
The App uses Android Geocoder to convert latitude and longitude into an address or administrative area. Depending on the device manufacturer, operating system, and region, coordinates may be processed on the device or transmitted to and processed temporarily by the geocoding-service provider configured by the operating system.
4.3 Google Maps Platform and Maps SDK for Android
The App uses the Google Maps Platform Maps SDK for Android to display the current location and nearby map area. During map display, Google may process the request, device, crash, network, identifier, and map-interaction information described in Section 1.2, together with information about the displayed map area.
Google may process this information to provide maps, maintain and improve services, measure usage, analyse errors, and protect service security. Google’s Privacy Policy and Google Maps Platform terms apply to this information.

Maps SDK for Android data-disclosure information: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/android-sdk/play-data-disclosure
Google Maps Platform Terms: https://cloud.google.com/maps-platform/terms
4.4 Google AdMob, Google Mobile Ads SDK, and UMP SDK
The App uses Google AdMob, the Google Mobile Ads SDK, and the UMP SDK to provide banner advertisements and advertising privacy choices. Advertising information may be processed by Google and partners involved in serving advertisements. Details about relevant partners and processing purposes may also be viewed in the consent and privacy-settings forms provided.

How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
Google Mobile Ads SDK data-disclosure information: https://developers.google.com/admob/android/privacy/play-data-disclosure
5. Advertising and User Choices
Version 1.0.2 displays banner advertisements on the main compass and map screens.
Advertising privacy-choice forms may be provided depending on the user's region, applicable requirements, and consent status. In regions such as the EEA, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, consent, refusal, and detailed options are provided when required. In applicable US states, users may be offered choices to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
Users who require access to these settings are shown an “Ad privacy settings” link next to the Privacy Policy on the main screen. Users can change their choices or withdraw consent through this link. From the map screen, users can return to the main screen to access it. The link may be hidden when these settings are not required.
Users can continue to use the basic compass function after refusing consent or opting out of relevant processing. Depending on their choices and advertising conditions, non-personalised or limited advertisements may be displayed, or advertisements may not be displayed. Refusal does not necessarily stop all advertisements or all processing necessary to deliver advertisements.
Users may reset or delete their advertising ID using the advertising-ID controls available in Android settings. Available functions and menu locations vary by device and operating-system version. Relevant choices may also be managed through Google Account advertising settings.
Google advertising settings: https://myadcenter.google.com/
6. Sale of Personal Information
The Developer does not operate a business that directly sells users’ personal information or location information. However, advertising delivery may involve transmitting or sharing information with Google and relevant advertising partners through the advertising SDK. See Sections 1.3, 4.4, and 5 for this processing and choices to opt out of sale or sharing. Precise coordinates, altitude, and addresses obtained for the App's location features are not attached to advertising requests.
7. Permission Choices and Withdrawal
Location permission is optional. Users may change or withdraw the permission at any time through the following Android settings path:
Settings → Apps → Glance Compass → Permissions → Location
Advertising privacy choices are managed separately from location permission. Withdrawing location permission alone does not change advertising privacy choices, and changing advertising settings does not automatically withdraw location permission.
If permission is withdrawn, the basic compass function will remain available, while current-location, address, altitude, and map functions may be limited. Stored preferences may be deleted by clearing the App’s storage data from the App information screen or by uninstalling the App.
8. Information Security
The Developer limits the information processed by the App to what is necessary to provide its functions. Information transmitted to other external services is protected in accordance with the security practices and policies of those services. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
9. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13, and the Developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App’s target audience follows the age groups declared on Google Play. If you believe that a child has provided personal information to the Developer, please contact the Developer using the details below.
10. Possible International Processing
The servers of external service providers such as Google may be located outside the user’s country. Related information may therefore be processed in another country while providing these services. The types, purposes, retention periods, and safeguards for internationally processed information are governed by the applicable external service provider’s privacy policy, and applicable terms.
11. Deletion and Contact
The App does not create user accounts, and the Developer does not retain users’ location information or usage history on a server operated by the Developer. Users may delete locally stored App preferences by clearing the App’s data or uninstalling the App. Location information copied to the clipboard may be removed by replacing it with other clipboard content or by using a deletion function provided by the device. Clearing App data or uninstalling the App does not delete information already transmitted to external services.
For access, deletion, or other privacy requests involving information processed by an external service, users may use the controls and request mechanisms provided under that service provider’s privacy policy. For questions about this Privacy Policy or the App’s handling of information, please contact:
Developer: OHOLIAN
Email: oholianapps@gmail.com
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be revised when App functions, permissions, external services, laws, or applicable policies change. Material changes will be announced through the App, store listing, or Privacy Policy page, and the effective date at the top of this document will be updated.
