Scarecrowds

"Scarecrowds" is a gothic dark fantasy and surrealist mixed-media post-art series that began in Halloween Season, 2024. In gothic culture, crows are powerful and multifaceted symbols, often representing darkness, mystery, and a connection to death or the supernatural. Unlike scarecrows, Scarecrowds push back against the banality of human-centered conventions, and embrace the non-human dimension within us. The series celebrates the magic of animatronic 'scarecrowds' existing between reality and fantasy, as well as between human and non-human dimensions, infused with irony, satire, dark humor, and playfulness.
