Marie Ork, a rebel alien goth/punk cyborg witch from a parallel dystopian universe, materializes over and over again as a many-faced and many-voiced elf-like goblin digital specter within the boundless expanse of the Internetโconjured only through acts of will or desire. Born from a reality shattered by time and countless battles -a dark and labyrinthine place humans could naively reduce to what they call โthe collective unconsciousโ- she wandered lost in loneliness for 2.3 light-years after being violently exiled by her own race, feared for her dark beauty, protean nature and forbidden occult powers. Her only ally was her integral cyberwear, a super-evolved AI, the sole thing she could rely on. Humans can only witness fleeting visual and aural reiterationsโhallucinations woven from data and desire. The artist illustrating her on this post-art series once believed he was creating her in his own futuristic gothic/cyberpunk dark fantasy world. He was wrong. The truth runs far deeper.
