Gothic Obsessions is a post-art series rooted in my obsessions with the gothic universe and my absurd, mortal existential condition, shaped by countless impersonal forces greater than me. This collection embraces darkness, philosophical depth, melancholia, creativity, imperfection, alienation, existential angst and a fascination with the unknown as vital forces of an authentic reimagined subversive gothic world. Influenced by surrealism, dark fantasy, posthumanism and poststructuralism, the collection celebrates the unsettling ambiguities and non-human mysteries within ourselves—things that the unbearable superficiality of mainstream culture tends to avoid. It explores the seductive power of dark worlds, not as escapism, but as a transformative force—an allure that spellbinds through the eerie pull of the unknown beyond words. This is a tribute to complexity and a rejection of simplistic standards, where the strange and dark confronts the absurd and celebrates deviant pleasures.
