EXT. DEEP SPACE

A dark screen is lit up by twinkling stars .

SON

The story of home .

A meteorite drifts into frame , heading towards tiny Earth off

in the distance.

FATHER

Millions of years ago , a meteorite

made of vibranium, the strongest

substance in the universe struck

the continent of Africa affecting

the plant life around it.

The meteorite hits Africa and we see plant life and animals

affected by vibranium.

FATHER (CONT'D)

And when the time of man came , five

tribes settled on it and called it

Wakanda. The tribes lived in

constant war with each other until

a warrior shaman received a vision

from the Panther goddess Bast who

led him to the Heart Shaped Herb, a

plant that granted him super human

strength , speed, and instincts.

A visual representation of the five tribes emerges as hands

from the sand animation, and we see them unite , and then

break apart as conflict arises . Bashenga rises above the

conflict and eats the Heart Shaped Herb, proceeding to unite

the tribes .

FATHER (CONT'D)

The warrior became King and the

first Black Panther , the protector

of Wakanda .

FATHER (CONT'D)

Four tribes agreed to live under

the King's rule , but the Jabari

tribe isolated themselves in the

mountains.

We see the Jabari striding off towards the isolated mountain

region.

FATHER (CONT'D)

The Wakandans used vibranium to

develop technology more advanced

than any other nation , but as

Wakanda thrived the world around it

descended further into chaos.

We see images of war and slavery just outside Wakanda ' s

secretive border .

FATHER (CONT'D)

To keep vibranium safe , the

Wakandans vowed to hide in plain

sight, keeping the truth of their

power from the outside world.

We see the protective barrier rise around the Wakandan city ,

as we pull back on the Earth as it spins, now zooming in on

another part of the world ..�

SON

And we still hide Baba?

FATHER

Yes .

SON

Why?

EXT. LAKE MERRITT APARTMENT

COMPLEX, OAKLAND NIGHT - 1992

-

Towering apartment buildings loom over the horizon . Kids play

pickup basketball on a milk carton hoop when mysterious

lights approach from the sky.

INT. N'JOBU'S APARTMENT/HALLWAY NIGHT

An African man , N'JOBU (30s) sorts through firearms and goes

over maps with another man , JAMES (20s , African American).

Live news footage of the 1992 Los Angeles Riots plays on the

TV.

N'JOBU

Hey look , if we get in and out

quick won't be any worries . You in

the van come in through from the

west , come around the corner, land

right here. Me and the twins

pulling up right here , we leavin'

this car behind , ok? We corning ...

Suddenly, N'Jobu hears something that we don't ... a familiar

sound.

N'JOBU (CONT'D)

Hide the straps.

James quickly moves into action, hiding the guns in the walls

as N'Jobu peers out a window , then clears the maps from the

table and unrolls a tapestry on the wall , hiding a bulletin

board. James cocks a handgun.

JAMES

Is it the Feds?

N'JOBU

No.

A KNOCK rattles the door .

James walks over and looks out of a peep hole, then turns

back with a confused expression .

JAMES

It's two Grace Jones looking

chicks .. they're holding spears . . .

N'JOBU

Open it.

JAMES

You serious?

N'JOBU

They won't knock again .

James opens the door and TWODORAMILAJE (members of the All

Female Wakandan Special Forces) slowly enter carrying LARGE

SPEARS They eye N' Jobu.

EXT. ESPACIO PROFUNDO

Una pantalla oscura es iluminada por estrellas parpadeantes .

PADRE

El de nuestro hogar.

Un meteorito entra en escena, dirigiéndose hacia la pequeña Tierra

en la distancia.

PADRE

Hace millones de años, un meteorito

hecho de vibranio, la sustancia

mas fuerte del universo

golpeó el continente de África afectando

la vegetación a su alrededor.

El meteorito golpea África y vemos la vida vegetal y los animales afectados por el vibranio.

PADRE (CONTINUACIÓN)

Y al llegar el tiempo del hombre, cinco

tribus se asentaron en el ella y la llamaron

Wakanda. Las tribus combatían entre ellas constantemente,

hasta que un guerrero Chamán recibió una visión

de la Diosa Pantera Bast quien

lo guio a la hierba de corazón, una

planta que le otorgó fuerza,

velocidad e instintos sobre humanos.

Una representación visual de las cinco tribus emerge como manos

de la animación de la arena, y las vemos unirse, y luego

separarse a medida que surge el conflicto. Bashenga se eleva por encima del conflicto y se come la hierba en forma de corazón, procediendo a unir

las tribus.

PADRE (CONTINUACIÓN)

El guerrero se convirtió en Rey y en la

primera Pantera Negra, el protector de Wakanda.

Cuatro tribus aceptaron vivir gobernadas

por este Rey, pero la tribu Jabari

eligió aislarse en las montañas.

Vemos a los Jabari alejarse a grandes zancadas hacia la aislada región montañosa.

PADRE (CONTINUACIÓN)

Los Wakandianos usaron el vibranio para

desarrollar tecnología mas avanzada

que la de cualquier otra nación, pero mientras

prosperaban el mundo a su alrededor

descendía mas hacia el caos.

Vemos imágenes de la guerra y la esclavitud a las afueras de la frontera secreta de Wakanda.

PADRE (CONTINUACIÓN)

Para proteger el vibranio, los

Wakandianos juraron ocultarse a plena

vista, ocultando así su verdadero

poder del mundo exterior.

Vemos la barrera protectora levantarse alrededor de la ciudad de Wakanda, mientras retrocedemos en la Tierra mientras gira, ahora acercándonos a otra parte del mundo ..�

EXT. COMPLEJO DE APARTAMENTOS LAKE MERRITT

COMPLEJO DE APARTAMENTOS, OAKLAND NOCHE - 1992

-

Los imponentes edificios de apartamentos se perfilan en el horizonte. Los niños juegan al baloncesto en un aro de cartón de leche cuando unas misteriosas luces se acercan desde el cielo.

INT. APARTAMENTO DE N'JOBU / PASILLO DE NOCHE

Un hombre africano, N'JOBU (30 años), revisa las armas de fuego y

con otro hombre, JAMES (20 años, afroamericano).

Las noticias en directo de los disturbios de 1992 en Los Ángeles se reproducen en la TELEVISIÓN.

N'JOBU

A ver, si entramos y salimos

rápido estaremos bien. Traes la

camioneta, te acercas por la izquierda,

das vuelta en la esquina, y aquí

te estacionas. Los gemelos y yo

llegamos aquí y abandonamos

el auto, de acuerdo? venimos por...

De repente, N'Jobu oye algo que nosotros no... un sonido familiar.

N'JOBU (CONTINUACIÓN)

Esconde las armas

James entra rápidamente en acción, escondiendo las armas en las paredes

mientras N'Jobu se asoma a una ventana, luego retira los mapas de la

mesa y desenrolla un tapiz en la pared , ocultando un tablón de anuncios. James amartilla una pistola.

JAMES

que? los federales?

N'JOBU

No.

Un golpe seco hace sonar la puerta.

James se acerca y mira por la mirilla, luego se vuelve

con una expresión de confusión.

JAMES

Son dos nenas con trajes extraños y lanzas muy raras...

N'JOBU

N'JOBU

No volverán a tocar

James abre la puerta y TWODORAMILAJE (miembros de las Fuerzas Especiales Femeninas de Wakanda) entran lentamente portando GRANDES LADRILLAS Observan a N' Jobu.
