CSU, Chico has a new SLPA Licensure Pathway Program for those graduating with a bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. This program provides clinical experience for the assistant licensure. They will be having online info sessions on March 23, April 8, & April 20 at 5 p.m.

We received a lot of interest in regards to what National NSSLHA is and we will be hosting this event to make sure you all know what it is, what the benefits are, and how to join, because it gives great resources if you want to grow in our field! If you take advantage of your membership, you can come out with so many connects, knowledge, and leadership experience on the nation level (applications are open, so may open positions!! - we'll talk about that at our info session). There are so many things to talk about so please come to the info session! Your National NSSLHA membership will last until the end of 2021, so the earlier you purchase it the better!

We want to make sure everyone who is interested does not miss out, especially during COVID because a lot of us are having difficulty finding volunteer opportunities and want to be as involved as possible!

Marcella McCollum, a lecturer in a CSD department & graduate student enrolled in the educational leadership doctoral program at San Jose State University is conducting a survey investigating how students perceive their experiences as undergraduate students in communication sciences and disorder and related majors. New Program Alert! USC has announced that they will be extending their application due date for their MS-SLP degree until March 30th for Fall 2021 admissions! Since this program is fairly new, gaining acceptance can be a little easier compared to other programs in California. Info sessions are available on their website to learn more.

Volunteering Opportunity! The Korean American Special Education Center is looking for volunteers who can help in communication, conversations, developing friendships with college students with developmental disabilities! This is a great way for those looking to volunteer during this time! Contact info is provided.

Hey members! We are so excited to welcome back Dr. Carole Roth as our first speaker this semester. Come and join us on Friday @ 6 p.m. to learn more about her and her experience focusing on TBI and her experience working in the military. The Speech-Language Pathologists Subcommittee of the Region 10 Coordinating Council will hold a 2 day webinar, free of charge. The first webinar will be April 15 from 8:30-12:00 p.m. and it will be about how therapy changes in the brain: The power of intervention with school-aged children. The second webinar will be April 16 from 8:30-12:00 p.m. and this one will focus on the adolescent brain: Consideration fro Speech and Language Intervention. Registration deadline is April 13! This is an awesome experience to expand on knowledge within our field.

Come and join us for our welcome back event this semester! Dr. Johnston will host our virtual cooking event, this Friday, where we will be making some delicious dinner. We can't wait to see you there!
