Spring 2022 Soccer Registration Now Open!

Message from the NPAA Board: Nov. 2021

NPAA Families,

We hope this email finds you and your family well. It's hard to believe that we are halfway through November already and will soon find ourselves bringing in the year 2022! We had a very successful 2021 with Spring Soccer, Summer Baseball / Softball, and Fall Soccer. Our athletes worked hard, learned the fundamentals of the sport, improved immensely throughout the season, became better teammates, and had fun on the field. We couldn't have done that without all of our coaches and parents supporting the program. Thank you for helping us make the North Prairie Athletic Association so successful.

This Fall, our NPAA Board has done a lot of planning and brainstorming regarding how we can continue to meet the needs of our community and our athletes. We are excited about the growth our program has experienced over the last few years and are working hard to make sure all of our programs continue to be strong and grow along with our community.

That being said, we are a program whose success depends on a whole community effort. Coaches, parents, family members, athletes, and community members all play an important role in our success. We hope that you will consider in what way you can help us grow in 2022. Each season, we are looking for head coaches, assistant coaches, referees & umpires, parents to help coordinate snacks, and supportive fans. Thank you in advance for sharing your time and talents with us.

Right now, our biggest need is at the Treasurer position. Our current treasurer is stepping down after serving the organization for the past few years. We need someone who is willing to step into that role to help provide stability and direction with our finances. This person would work closely with the sports coordinators and president to help keep the program on budget and moving in a positive direction. It helps if this person has some financial background or is at least comfortable and good working with numbers. This person does not need to be an expert, just someone who is willing to learn the role and work with the rest of the board to help make things run smoothly. A more detailed description is listed below. If you or someone you know would be a good fit, please do not hesitate to reach out. This is a great role for someone with young children who may be playing within the NPAA for the next few years. It is an excellent opportunity to help grow the program. We need you!

If you have any questions or would like to talk further about anything, do not hesitate to contact us.

Have a great Thanksgiving!

- NPAA Board Members

NPAA Treasurer Description: The Treasurer is a Board Member with primary duties related to organizational finances. The work of the treasurer ebbs and flows throughout the year, typically being the heaviest at the beginning of each sport season. A successful treasurer is one who is a financially responsible individual with a basic understanding of accounting principles and able to communicate regularly with the organization. The Treasurer works within the software QuickBooks to sync bank accounts to QuickBooks, reconcile & verify accounts, create reports, and maintain accurate records of reimbursements and expenses. Some other duties of the treasurer include payment of bills & league fees, payment of referees during soccer season and working within the website TeamSnap to monitor registrations, and process coach reimbursements & refunds when applicable.

NPAA Mission Statement & Guiding Philosophy

The North Prairie Athletic Association, or the NPAA as we like to call it, is a community-based organization providing our youth a recreational sports league. It is our belief that all children should have the opportunity to participate in athletics which is why we strive to offer a fun, educational, affordable, family-friendly and challenging rec program to our athletes. We hope to grow athleticism and sportsmanship in all our athletes and families. Currently we offer an outdoor soccer program for the Spring and Fall, as well as an outdoor baseball and softball program for Summer. As the NPAA grows, we hope to offer more programs within the NPAA.

Our players mostly come from the Village of North Prairie and surrounding communities, but since we have no residency requirement, we welcome athletes from anywhere in the greater Waukesha County area. Our programs are based on grade levels beginning in preschool and ranging all the way up to 8th grade. The number of teams offered each season is dependent on the number of registrations.

The NPAA is an all-volunteer organization. That being said, we need YOU! From the board members to the coaches, we volunteer our time, experience, and knowledge to keep this fantastic program running and growing. Our volunteers either have or had children in our programs so there is a close connection between our community and the organization. You do not need to be an expert to volunteer your time and talent. We are looking for volunteers who care about youth sports and want to see a strong community. Please consider volunteering with us.

More information is available on each of the tabs listed above. We hope you consider joining us as we continue to strengthen our community through sports. Contact any of our board members with questions or concerns!
