Coaches

We NEED YOU to be a COACH!

What does it mean to be a coach?

First off, the NPAA commends you for dedicating your time, experience, and commitment to enable the NPAA to provide the programs that we have. We couldn't do what we do without the volunteers that help coach. We need more of you! You may feel like you can't coach or coaching just isn't for you. We think that it IS for you and that you CAN make a difference in the lives of our athletes. You don't need to be an expert or even have that much knowledge of the game. What you do need is an excitement, passion, and and a willingness to be a positive role model.

Remember that the NPAA is a recreational league. Competition is part of sports but please remember that we are a recreational league and should be treated as such. Winning isn't everything. While it's fun and we want our athletes to be competitive, we also want them to become good citizens and practice sportsmanship. Your job as a coach is to ensure your athletes are competitive, have fun, learn the fundamentals of the sport, and become good teammates. We want our athletes to go on to future endeavours with the skills necessary to be strong teammates. You can do that!

You are not only coaching the kids in the way of the sport you are coaching, but you are also teaching them valuable life lessons and you are a role model for them. Your positive attitude and professionalism on and off the field goes a long way.

As a NPAA coach, we have expectations of you as a coach / volunteer. As a coach, you are required to read and sign our "Code of Conduct" (included below). Please take a look at it and return when you are ready. The Baseball and Soccer Coordinators will work with you to develop practice plans and provide you with the equipment and support you need to be a successful coach.

Thank you very much!
