Conditions Colour Key
Green - No alert, Low Water, no extreme weather.
Yellow - Moderate warning - river level &/or weather
Red - Severe river level with possible weather warnings

Environment Agency Terminology
Please be aware that information on EA maps bears little relation to conditions experienced by canoeists. The term "Normal" with EA data can extend to rivers with very challenging canoeing conditions if they have not reached a point of flooding buildings, roads or "wash land." Flood Alerts, Warnings & Severe Flood Warnings apply to land around the rivers not the river. They can be a good indicator of how bad the river might be or how long conditions might last.
Flood Alert - Means that there is a possibility of flooding in the area particularly low lying ground.
Flood Warning - Means there is likely-hood of flooding in areas prone to flood. This may include property causing damage.
Severe Flood Warning - Means that that flooding is almost certain, with property in danger, transport disruption & danger to life.
