In the 1970s Jane Rowse, (correct spelling Rouse?) who was one of Britain's top female racing canoeists in the early 1970s, was so impressed with the work that Nottingham Kayak Club was doing to encourage Junior development with the Clifton Race, that she awarded the Jane Rowse Trophy to be presented each year to the Junior who had made the most improvement on the race during a year.Â
As it is much harder to make a 1 second improvement if your time is around 36 minutes than if it's around 50 minutes, the points calculation is done on scaled rather than linear basis.
Existing Records are slightly patchy but files available online are shown below the current year.
