ACCESS TO TRENTSIDE

Please see the email below from Alan Bexon of Nottingham Forest Football Club which explains about the road closure (Trentside North) on the days of home matches and the reasons behind these closures.

Dear all

I hope this email finds you well?

You will no doubt be fully aware of the works that have been carried out at the junction of ‘Trentside North’ and ‘Trent Bridge’ by Via East Midlands on behalf of Nottinghmshire County Council over recent months, where ‘Hostile Vehicle Mitigation’ (HVM) bollards has been installed.

This is part of the governments ‘Protecting Crowded Places’ scheme and has been led by the Council and Nottinghamshire Police and will be implemented on event days.

As you may already know there has been a ‘Traffic Regulation Order’

(TRO) in place for a number of years now that restricts parking and allows the movement of vehicles to be managed. It also allows for any such vehicle to be removed from the area should it be compromising the safety of those attending events at The City Ground.

The Club has recently taken control of the ‘bollards and gates’ on match days and staff will implement the closure from this Saturday 4th December for the game against Peterborough United. The bollards on Trentside will be raised and staffed throughout the event from 2 hours before the scheduled kick off until up to 45 minutes after the final whistle. They will only be retracted in the event of an emergency.

The new signage located at the entrance to Trentside North and other roads leading to the stadium will now include a digital display showing the date of the next event. This will provide users with sufficient notice of the forthcoming restrictions.

The Club continues to be conscious of its neighbours such as yourselves and has always endeavoured to work alongside them wherever possible.

Please can I politely request for your members to be advised of the restrictions that will be in place from 13:00hrs on Saturday so that all vehicles can depart Trentside North prior to the closure. Any vehicle that remains may be removed if it is considered to be a safety risk.

I apologise for what may appear to be short notice but it is important to implement the controls at the first opportunity. I am happy to respond to any questions you have so that the implementation can be as smooth as possible.

Many thanks for your continued support.

Alan
