Saturday September 18th - CLIFTON 1000
On Saturday 18th September the club ran the first ever ‘Clifton 1000’ Charity paddle. The club has lost three much respected members, George Oliver, Heather Parker and Dave Vernau to cancer over the last two years.
In their memory an estimated £1900 for the Maggies Cancer Support Centre at Nottingham City Hospital was raised. With the fastest time of 32.43 by James Russell and the slowest of 80.20 by the sweeper of the plastic boat start it was truly a 5 mile/8km race for all!
With thanks to Peak UK, ICON, Desperate Measures and RacePace who supported the event with generous prizes.
