The ventilation waveform generator is a device currently used for testing CPAP devices and aiding patients experiencing restricted breathing. It is similar in function to what is desired for the NOSE. A linear motor is programmed to create positive pressures through a tube in conjunction with an air compressor as depicted in the patent figure below.
The ventilation waveform generator creates pressure changes similar to what the NOSE will need to accomplish for testing the NED.
The generator would need to be fitted exactly to the NED device.
Cost for the generator is high, and they are not easily accessible.
