Welcome to Northern High School's Navy National Defense Cadet Corps (NNDCC) School Year 2025-2026!!!
The Senior Chief Petty Officer (SCPO) in an NNDCC Company holds a significant leadership position and is responsible for various duties that ensure the smooth operation and discipline of the unit. Here are some of the key responsibilities:
The SCPO is the senior enlisted Cadet of the unit and works under the direction of the Commander. They supervise and act as the expert reference for all unit ceremonies, ensuring that these events are conducted with precision and adherence to protocol. Additionally, the SCPO is responsible for initiating and maintaining a current roster of all cadets in the unit and their assigned positionsÂ
In their role, the SCPO takes part in staff meetings to represent the views of the Cadet rank and file to the staff, ensuring that cadet concerns are communicated effectively. They also supervise the company's Senior and Chief Petty Officers, as well as the Ensigns, in the performance of their duties. Regular communication with the Naval Science Instructor (NSI) is essential, as the SCPO seeks guidance on all matters pertaining to the welfare of the enlisted cadets.
The SCPO leads by example and is actively involved in the daily operations of the unit, carrying out additional duties as assigned by the Senior Naval Science Instructor (SNSI), NSI, Commanding Officer (CO), or Executive Officer (XO).
These duties are crucial for maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of the NNDCC unit, and the Senior Chief Petty Officer plays a vital role in achieving the program's objectives.
