Welcome to Northern High School's Navy National Defense Cadet Corps (NNDCC) School Year 2025-2026!!!
The Company Commander (CO) in an NNDCC program holds a pivotal leadership role and is responsible for the overall performance and conduct of the Cadet company. Here are some of the key duties:
The CO is responsible to the Senior Naval Science Instructor (SNSI) for the performance of the Cadet company. This includes setting the highest standards of performance, conduct, military bearing, and appearance as an example to all Cadets. The CO maintains high morale and enthusiasm within the unit, develops team spirit, and fosters a desire to excel. He avoids forming cliques or special groups that may result in favoritism.
The CO acts as the official point of contact between the Cadet unit and the SNSI/NSI on all matters relating to the functioning of the company. He takes actions to involve the maximum number of Cadets in NNDCC activities and represents the unit in the Student Government Association (SGA) and other school bodies where appropriate. The CO ensures that all military formations, ceremonies, and routines are planned and carried out properly and in a timely manner.
Additionally, the CO promotes the personal growth and well-being of each Cadet, advises the SNSI on matters of unit morale, activity schedule, training, and personnel, and conducts frequent inspections to ensure the proper execution of unit functions. He is aware of and ensures the coordination of all unit activities to minimize conflicts and omissions. The CO also carries out other duties as assigned by the SNSI/NSI.
These duties are essential for maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of the NNDCC unit, and the Company Commander plays a crucial role in achieving the program's objectives.
