Welcome to Northern High School's Navy National Defense Cadet Corps (NNDCC) School Year 2025-2026!!!
The Company Executive Officer (XO) in the NNDCC program plays a vital role in supporting the Commanding Officer (CO) and ensuring the smooth operation of the unit. Here are some of the key duties:
The XO is responsible for supervising and coordinating all activities of the staff. He supports the CO in all respects and must be ready to take charge of the unit in the absence of the CO. This includes enforcing rules and regulations of the unit and acting to solve disciplinary problems before they come to the attention of the Senior Naval Science Instructor (SNSI).
Additionally, the XO is tasked with leading unit staff meetings and continually assessing progress toward achieving unit goals. He makes recommendations for revising goals where appropriate and ensure that all team captains are properly documenting practice and competition attendance. The XO also assists with special projects and annual events, working closely with the SNSI, Naval Science Instructor (NSI), and other staff members.
The XO is also responsible for maintaining the unit's End of Year (EOY) Report as a living document and ensuring the Training Officer is actively providing relevant training to all cadets through activities, lessons, and demonstrations. He inspects the Cadet Data Management Information System (CDMIS) for proper documentation and supervises the Training and Advancement programs.
These duties are essential for maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of the NNDCC unit, and the Company Executive Officer plays a crucial role in achieving the program's objectives.
