This includes maintaining a thorough knowledge of individual, squad, and platoon drill, as well as the guidon, inspection, and sword manual positions of the Drill and Ceremonies Manual
Inspections and Formations: The Platoon Commander takes charge of the platoon for all inspections and other military formations. They ensure that the platoon is prepared for events such as the Area Managers Annual Military Inspection and Change of Command
Morale and Welfare: Developing and promoting high morale and spirit within the platoon is another key duty. The Platoon Commander takes personal responsibility for the advancement, participation, and welfare of the cadets in their platoon

Administrative Tasks: The role also involves handling various administrative tasks, such as taking roll, maintaining records, and ensuring that all documentation is accurate and up-to-date
Support and Assistance: The Platoon Chief provides support and assistance to the Platoon Commander in carrying out their duties. This may include taking on additional responsibilities as needed and stepping in to lead the platoon in the absence of the Platoon Commander
