At North PD, we don’t just hand you a badge — we build a capable officer. Training is not a one-time event; it’s an ongoing process to ensure every officer meets the operational and ethical standards we uphold.
Training ensures:
You understand the legal framework, use-of-force policies, and arrest procedures.
You are confident and capable in active patrols and emergency situations.
You contribute to a professional, respected police presence in the city.
During your evaluation patrol, you’ll be assessed on the following:
âś… Correct use of cautions
âś… Confidence in stop & search protocol
âś… Safe and lawful arrest technique
âś… Clear radio communication
âś… Appropriate use of force
âś… Situational awareness & safety
Even after promotion, officers may undergo refresher training or re-evaluation if:
They've been inactive for a period of time.
A misconduct report is filed.
They are being considered for a specialist unit or leadership role.
Every officer is expected to earn their place through skill, integrity, and consistency. Fast-tracking or skipping evaluation without approval from a DC or COMM is not permitted.
