This section aims to answer the most common queries from new and seasoned officers alike.

A: Promotions are based on activity, behavior, professionalism, and passing evaluations. There is no set time frame — it’s about quality, not time served.
A: That’s what this handbook is for! Bookmark it and refer back often. You can also ask supervisors during quiet periods on duty.
A: Mistakes are part of learning — what matters is how you handle them. Be honest, take feedback seriously, and show improvement. Serious or repeated issues may be referred to IA.
A: Transfers are allowed but must be approved by both departments. A re-evaluation may be required to ensure you're familiar with North PD standards.
A: Always start with your direct supervisor. If needed, escalate to an Inspector or the Deputy Commissioner.
