Our Nordic travelling book

Aims:

The students learn about the language and the culture of other Nordic countries.



Work process

  • Students in each school which is participants in this project create a beginning of a book.

  • All the books travel trough the Nordic countries and to the partners schools.

  • Each student group has to write continue of a story according to the beginning.

  • The students write in there language and translate the text to English.

  • When all students groups has written in the story book will the book go back to the school that started it.

Theme

  • Each student group has to write something related with the culture of the country: cultural objects, food, clothing…

Moreover

  • Students can use any artistic technique they want.

  • Each book will be of a DIN-A 3 size using in cardboard, so it won’t break. It will be sent already binded.

  • They will have 6 pages ( 1 page for school and the cover).

  • The covers should be in plastic (using a plastic laminator). Each school will make cover for the books as they want.

  • Students can work in each book for three weeks, then it has one week to travel to next school.

  • Its good to use common working place like e-twinning while this is ongoing, tell story of the process and upload pictures.

  • When the books are finished they can be uploaded to a web site.

The final product

  • A book made by many children from the Nordic counties (Iceland, Finland, Norway and Denmark).

  • An online Isuu library with all the books we have created during the process.
