Iceland

The Nordic days took place in two schools in Iceland, Háteigskóli and Selásskóli in Reykjavík.

The students that took part in the project were 6th graders that were learning about the Northern countries.

The students (in Háteigsskóli) visited the school library where they meet the guests.

  • A little bit of the book Blái hnötturinn, The blue planet, by the author Andri Snær Magnason was read in Icelandic, Danish and Finish.

  • The Danish and Finish guests promoted there country in a Power Point slide show.

  • After the show the students had to try their best in a quiz game in Kahoot, which was in English.

Visit to the Nordic house

At the Nordic house about 75 students from both schools came together.

In the beginning they were gathered in a big hall and got a short promotion about each Nordic country by the Nordic house staff.

The group was then divided into three smaller groups, each group traveled between three working stations. With about 30 minute stop at each station.

  1. In the big hall the students had to solve written tasks about the Nordic counties.

  2. At the green house, outside the Nordic house, the students had a lunch break and listened to a Nordic story.

  3. In the Nordic house's children's library section the students looked at books in different Nordic languages and had free time to play and look around.
