Tamara Bradford, MD

Cardiology

About Me: I am a pediatric cardiologist here at CHNOLA and have been for the past 4.5 years. I am originally from the St. Vincent and the Grenadines in the Caribbean but have been living in the US since the age of 16 years.

Medical Degree: Texas A&M University College of Medicine, College Station, Texas

Residency: Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, Nashville, Tennessee

Interests: From a personal perspective, I love traveling to new countries and exploring new cultures and destinations. In fact, my husband and I will be braving a few destinations in Europe this summer with a 2 year old toddler so pray for us. I also love family, being with and spending time with my family is very important to me, building those relationships also helps me build my village. I also love to Netflix and chill, which I don’t usually have enough time for unfortunately. Professionally, I love mentoring, and I have done so since my first year as an attending. I love sharing my journey with others and helping them explore their options for the possibility of what their career can be. I also enjoy teaching all levels of learners in all areas, in clinic, on service, socially etc.

Fun Fact: I started college at 16 years old here in the US because we graduate at 16 years in my home country and I moved here after high school graduation. We do have 12 grades, but we start school at age 4 years so we typically graduate high school at 16 years, or even 15 years depending on your birthday.
