About Me: I am a pediatric surgeon at CHNOLA and associate program director for the general surgery residency program at LSU. I've adopted New Orleans as my home but was born in Japan, moved to Yellow Springs, Ohio at 9, and spent a year in Geneva, Switzerland in high school before heading to the east coast for college.
Medical Degree: Wright State University
Residency: LSU New Orleans General Surgery
Fellowship: UTSW Pediatric Surgery
Interests: multidisciplinary medical education, identifying and reducing disparities in care, and operating all day every day
Fun Fact: my husband and I love living in the Uptown neighborhood where we can go run or bike in the park or on the levee year-round and walk to our favorite neighborhood restaurants. We have a geriatric rat terrier mutt named Ollie. I also play on a competitive coed soccer team that I probably take more seriously than work.
Top 3 Strengths: integrating coaching into resident feedback, quality improvement, and denying opponents 20 years younger than me a clear shot on goal.
