The third meeting was supposed to take place in Bayreuth and focus on data sessions. However, due to COVID-19, we decided to conduct the meeting online.
Data Sessions
In the meeting, we held data sessions, an innovative format during which network members present difficult examples from their datasets and put them up for discussion. Gea Dreschler, Kathrin Kircili, and Teresa Pham each uploaded examples to Etherpads and, after a short presentation of why the examples are challenging, the other network members had time to comment on the examples in the Etherpad. The examples were then discussed in the group. We agreed that this format is quite helpful and that using Etherpads was an uncomplicated way to conduct data sessions online.
Joint Article
In addition to the data sessions, we worked on the joint article. Some theoretical questions were still open (e.g. how to deal with the concept of 'markedness' in our model), but we also talked about the schedule for the two case studies and the review process.
