Description:  Install new chiller rack at the rear of a Landmark, four-story, commercial building. 

Staff Recommendation:

At the previous Commission meeting, the applicant was requesting to install a new chiller rack that was 9'-6" in height that had conduit running up the rear of the building. After further discussions with staff, the neighbor, and the building owner, the applicant has been able to lower the chiller rack so that it is at the same base-flood-elevation as the building, 37". The total height of the HVAC units and chiller rack is approximately 8'-7" and will have appropriate screening, painted white to further reduce visibility. The conduit will be run directly into the interior of the building and will not be visible. As this updated proposal meets the HDLC Guidelines and can be properly screened from the public right-of-way, Staff recommends approval of the application.
