2015 Audubon St.

Description: Demolition of more than 50% of the roof structure of a Contributing rated, one-story, single family, residential building. 

Staff Recommendations: 

Fire Insurance Maps show that 2015 Audubon Street was constructed prior to 1950. The main wall of the original cottage aligned with the neighboring building and the overall footprint was rectangular in shape. At some point, a front porch was added as well as a rear addition. The rear addition then created a "U" shape footprint with an exterior courtyard. The proposed addition would primarily impact the addition that was added later.

In full control historic districts, camelbacks are approved as long as they're set two rooms back. This camelback addition is presumptively 2 rooms back and is altering a later addition. For these reasons, Staff recommends the approval of more than 50% of the roof.
