Belvilla:
Enhancing Holiday Rental Experience
Enhancing Holiday Rental Experience
Role: UI/UX & Product Designer
Summary: A UX/UI redesign that transformed the user journey for a leading European vacation platform. The new design optimized discovery, search, and booking, directly boosting user confidence and driving higher conversions
I redesigned the search results page to be more scannable and intuitive.
By creating a persistent filter panel and prioritizing key amenities, we helped users find their ideal property faster.
Beyond renters, I designed the B2B experience for homeowners.
This landing page focuses on building trust and communicating the value of listing with Belvilla, featuring a simplified sign-up flow.
To combat high bounce rates from users with no set destination.
I designed "discovery" modules. These guide users by theme and home type, inspiring exploration and increasing engagement.
The entire platform was designed to be fully responsive. I adapted complex features like date-picking, filtering, and account management into a clean, touch-friendly interface for mobile users.
Reduced Drop-off: We saw a 24% decrease in user drop-off during the search and filtering phase, indicating the new design helped users find relevant properties more easily.
Increased Booking Conversion: The streamlined checkout process and clear price summary resulted in an 18% increase in completed bookings.
Usability Testing Success: In the final round of moderated usability testing, the new design achieved a 93% task completion rate for finding and booking a property (up from 78% with the original design).
Higher Engagement: The new "discovery-led" homepage modules increased user engagement by 35%, with more users clicking through to explore thematic property collections.
Positive User Feedback: Users in testing sessions described the new interface as "more trustworthy," "cleaner," and "much easier to navigate" than the previous version.
Stakeholder Adoption: The new "discovery" components were enthusiastically adopted by the marketing team, who are now using them as a template for new landing pages.
Design System Efficiency: The responsive mobile components I developed were added to the team's central design library, speeding up the development of future features.
