My father has trouble squeezing the tabs on the sides of his cordless batteries to disengage them from the tool. He wanted a device to aid in removing said batteries.
I designed a one handed battery puller for him as a present. I measured the battery and drew the pieces in CAD. I pro-typed the pieces out of MDF on a CNC. I then finalized the design in CAD and purchased the materials. I machined the pieces out of 6061 aluminum and assembled them. The large red knobs and spring allow the device to be held comfortably in one's hand without sliding out nor collapsing.
MDF Prototype
Created model in SolidWorks and then cut the pieces out of MDF on a CNC. Assembled into a working model and tested.
