The goal of this learning outcome is to analyze results of different process simulation models/approaches by comparing and contrasting their assumptions, simulation strategy and limitations. Each element in this learning outcome features direct comparisons of property methods learned throughout chemical engineering and results from problems that are solved using multiple property methods and procedures. The results of each problem are compared based on the methods used to calculate the results, and conclusions and comparisons are made with respect to the quality of each property methods/procedure, and when each property method/procedure performs well. The element used for this learning outcome are given below:
Table Comparison of Property Methods (Homework 1, Problem 2)
Biochemical Reactions (Homework 4, Problem 2)
ASPEN vs Bernoulli Equation (Homework 2, Problem 1)
Distillation Block Comparison (Homework 4, Problem 2)
Reactor Block Comparison (Homework 3, Problem 1)
