Workplace trainers

What is a workplace trainer?

A workplace trainer is a person appointed by an employer to guide on-the-job learning in the workplace. He is an expert in his profession who works in collaboration with educational institutions and teachers. The workplace trainer introduces the student to the job tasks and the workplace, and directs, instructs and supervises the performance of work tasks. He is also responsible for occupational safety.

The most important person and mentor for a student in the workplace is the workplace trainer. The workplace trainer must understand the different abilities of students to perform different work tasks. The student is not a professional and needs support and guidance in his/her work. The workplace trainer is involved in the assessment of the student and the organization of skills demonstrations.
