Chatham Woods is a small community in Williston, Vermont. Construction began in about 2004 and the development was fully occupied in 2018. The completed development has 46 homes in 23 buildings. We're located off North Williston Road, 0.8 miles north of the Rt. 2 intersection with North Williston Road/Oak Hill, on Michael Lane (Town street) and Ian Place (private street). Our homes are duplex townhouses, with several styles and sizes available but with consistent construction and appearance throughout the community. The photo above shows the general appearance of our homes. This photo provides an aerial view of the community.
We are a "Planned Community" per Vermont statutes. That means that individuals owners own their homes and the land beneath and air above (per Declaration Section 2.3) and have exclusive use of elements that serve their individual home. But we share and maintain common land and forests for the benefit of all. The Declarations and the Bylaws put certain restrictions on owners to limit changes to external appearance of the homes, landscaping, etc. in order to maintain a consistent, attractive appearance across the community. The Association has assumed responsibility for maintenance, repair, and scheduled replacement of some elements of individual homes, and the Association has responsibility for maintaining the Common Elements and Limited Common Elements.
The Association is managed by an elected Board of three members who serve three-year terms (one rotating on/off each year) comprised of Chatham Woods home owners, working with standing committees and a property manager. See "Directory" for contact information.
