Children's Ministry

We love children and desire to provide a variety of opportunities for them to grow as a follower of Jesus.

Vacation Bible School

Our congregation has been known in our community for many, many years for our exceptional Vacation Bible School. Each summer we provide 4 days of Bible instruction, crafts, songs, and fun times. The 2020 VBS was a Virtual VBS during the week of August 17-21 (Mon-Fri). EXTRA KITS ARE AVAILABLE and the video lessons are on our You Tube channel. The kits have lesson supplies and craft items. If you missed VBS, this is a good family Bible class tool to use at home at any time. Call the office (503-538-4789) for a free backpack kit.

Pre-Teen Events (on hold)

For those 3rd-5th graders aspiring to join the Youth Group we do Pre-Teen Events throughout the year. These events include games, service activities, crafts, snacks, and tons of fun! (Activities postponed due to the pandemic.)

Children's Worship (temporarily not meeting)

During the sermon each Sunday morning, we provide special Bible instruction for children from age 2-4th grade. Parents may choose to have their children join them in worship but if not, they are welcome to join other children their age in lessons at their age level.

Sunday Classes (Zoom adult and teen classes)

From infants to high school seniors, children of all ages have an opportunity to learn the Word of God. Some of the classes will have mixed age groups. Due to the Pandemic, classes have gone online. Home Bible lessons for children are emailed upon request.

Wednesday Classes (Currently on Zoom)

Mid-week classes are provided for ages 2-18. These classes are an important spiritual lift for children who typically live busy lives.

Camp Yamhill

Camp Yamhill is a major part of our Children's Ministry at the Newberg church of Christ. Our children (grades 1st-5th) participate in numerous events during the year. Check out Camp Yamhill's website for additional information.

Prayer Buddies

This ministry connects our children with other members of the congregation through prayer and fellowship. Adults are paired with a student grades K-12 for the school year. Adults commit to praying for that student each week. There are also opportunities throughout the year for all the Prayer Buddies to spend time in fellowship and encourage each other.
