Code of Conduct
New England Science Boot Camp for Librarians Code of Conduct
The SBC planning committee has established this Code of Conduct to provide guidelines to participants and to ensure that all participants understand what behavior is expected, and what behavior will not be tolerated.
Expected Behavior of Conference Attendees
We expect attendees to;
foster a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment so everyone can participate in the conference fully and has a positive and rewarding experience
refrain from any form of harassment or discrimination based on a person’s identity
be mindful of their overall behavior and demeanor toward other participants
comply with the instructions of the moderator and any virtual event staff
avoid overtaking the Q&A period of a session to push a personal agenda, hiding comments in the guise of questions, or dominating the time to speak, especially if you are in a privileged group.
Any unwelcome or offensive behavior that demeans or intimidates others, or any discriminatory behavior based on (for example) race, religion, ethnicity, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, body size or appearance, or physical or cognitive ability, is unacceptable and in violation of the Code of Conduct.
