This section is divided into three categories of supports: Material, Emotional, and Informational. Material supports are those that provide families with access to the physical resources they need in order to work toward their goals, such as therapy equipment, toiletry items, food, home repairs, or financial resources to assist in paying for these items. Emotional supports are those that promote families' feelings of confidence, self-worth, and sense of control so that they can feel confident and supported in working toward their goals. Informational supports are those that serve to meet a family's need to know and understand things including, but not limited to, a child's disability, general child development, services that are available, and strategies to use with their child.
