Nuclear Waste as âHeritage of the Futureâ: What Archaeology Teaches Us About 100,000-Year Communication
This webinar explores the groundbreaking idea of treating nuclear waste as âheritage of the future,â drawing from the work of Professor Cornelius Holtorf, UNESCO Chair on Heritage Futures. Rather than viewing nuclear waste solely as a technical challenge, this talk reframes it as a longâterm cultural and societal responsibilityâone that requires memory preservation, futureâproof communication, and intergenerational ethics.
Small Modular Reactors Explained Physics, Design, Safety, and Global Energy Potential
This session offers a structured and accessible overview of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), beginning with the fundamental physics of neutron interactions and progressing toward their modern applications in global energy systems. Participants will explore how neutron behavior, crossâsections, and the effective multiplication factor (kâeff) influence reactor performance, followed by a brief historical evolution of nuclear reactors and lessons learned from key milestones.
This event is ideal for students, engineers, policy analysts, and young professionals seeking a physicsâbased understanding of SMRs and their growing importance in the cleanâenergy transition.
Building Trust & Advancing Nuclear Goals: Effective Stakeholder Communication and Engagement
