Sat Mar 3, 6:45am: Weaselhead Natural Area, Magpie Dispersal. Watch hundreds of Magpies leave their roosts at sunrise (7:17a.m.) to disperse across the city. *The Audubon Society has designated 2018 as the "Year of the Bird". To celebrate this Nature Calgary is planning a series of birding field trips from mid May to mid June to explore Calgary and the surrounding areas in the Calgary 80 km birding circle. These trips will be led by Bob Lefebvre, Andrew Hart, Howard Heffler, and Rose Painter. These are all full day trips, many to locations with limited safe parking. Car pooling will be required, if you can not agree to car pool please do not come on these trips. Registration is required for each trip since up to date information may require a change in meeting place, or even trip date.

A small flashlight will be helpful on the path. As gates are locked between 9:30-10:00 pm, park outside the gates along 9th Avenue.
