Showing Animals

Fair Points

Members wanting to show animals of all species must complete and return a Fair Points Form by August 1st to the 4-H agent.

Fair points are activities that keep members in good standing and are offered throughout the year. The purpose of this system is to help youth develop a broad sense of skills, explore other topic areas, have a sense of belonging to all of 4-H, and master other crucial life skills such as communication.

A Fair Point form with 5 qualifying points is required for youth ages 8-18, with the exception for first year showers.

Exhibitor Forms & General Information

Each animal category requires forms to be CONFIRMED by the 4-H agent and delivered to the Fair office by September 1st.

All exhibitor forms can be found HERE! All forms are now done online but membership and eligibility will still be confirmed by the 4-H agent.

Animals can only be shown by bone fide 4-H members, meaning they have enrolled in 4-H Online and paid their membership fee. Agents verify all memberships. Clubs can compete for herdsman awards for their club areas, win premiums for their animals, and compete in showmanship. For full 4-H guidelines please see this DOCUMENT

Each animal has it's own showtime. For specific species please click HERE to review their particular protocols.

Market Animals

Market animals specifically refer to animals that will be offered for sale and consumption at the end of the fair. Because of the timing of our fair, most exhibitors obtain their market animals in the springtime before the fair.

There are specific rules, deadlines, meetings, and procedures surrounding market animals. Please read the rules carefully and ask questions if you need further clarification.

Market animals require an additional record book to be completed and turned in to their specific barns. These record books can be turned into the 4-H office afterwards with the age appropriate report and used as a fair point for the next year.
