Some of the media on this site is still copyrighted by their respectful owners (mainly equipment manufacturers or various Google users). The use of such copyrighted material falls under Fair Use as allowed by the US Copyright Act of 1976 and the four principles listed below.

These are the four principles of fair use:

- The purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of a commercial nature or for nonprofit, educational purposes
  The use of such copyrighted material falls under this principle and such uses have historically been considered fair use in court.
- The nature of the copyrighted work
  The materials depicted on this site are published, non-fiction works primarily intended for advertising and information, and made available for distribution and downloading by the general public for no charge at the time of publication.
- The amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole
  The amount of copyrighted material reused is only necessary for educational purposes, which is the main intention of the North American Coin-op Laundry Guide.
- The effect of the use upon the potential market for or value of the copyrighted work
  Such use of copyrighted material will not have any negative impact on the market or the product this is being involved in.

If you own any media that's labeled as "fair use" and would like to give me the rights to use it under whatever copyright term you declare on the image, please do so and reupload the image on the media submission form so I know you are giving me the rights. If there's any Google Maps element shown in the existing photo if there's a photo that I had to grab off of Google Maps, please reupload the raw file and not the same image with the Google Maps elements in them.
