Mechanics of Structures

This study was done to understand the various types of load transfer processes, which take place within a given structure. Generally, this transfer takes place via structural members like columns and shear walls whereas, before this load reaches these columns, it is distributed with the help of horizontal members like beams. Components like slabs contribute in the formation of this so called "load". There are also other members which do not carry any load but have different purposes like creation of spaces with particular functions like walls, stairs etc.

The above structure is a R.C.C framed structure with concrete block infills , the frame of the structure is composed of three types of beams namely primary, secondary, tertiary.
