Patterns And Forces.

Week 1: After the completion of our orientation weeks at school in an offline format we were forced to shift back to the online format. Our online lectures began with discussions on topics like forms and structures. The faculty tried to imbibe a basic understanding of these terms and their histories.

They asked us to look for various forms and structures in our surroundings, especially in our day to day life. We displayed objects which had formal significance, interesting structures and mechanisms according to us.

Week 2:

From my set of objects the faculty chose a vermillion(sindhur) container. They thought that it would be interesting for me to study.

As the name suggests it is a container which is used to contain vermillion(shindhur) and other powder like substances used in poojas.

The object was explored using multiple ways through its geometry and by using various platonic solids, there was a great emphasis on visualising the object through basic shapes to get a deeper understanding.

One develops an understanding of an object's geometry, functions and forces just by the act of seeing, drawing and touching.
