Kabir: “Do you know what’s on this coming Tuesday?”

Meera: “hmmm, maybe some kind of festival. I don’t know Kabir. I am already occupied with project deadlines. I can’t afford to get another leave to waste my day. My boss is really counting on me on this and I really can’t afford to lose my promotion.”

Kabir: --

Meera: “What? Why are you making that face? Kabir, I really don’t have time for all this. I have to run for my office. We will talk in the evening. Bye.”

Kabir: “Have a nice day, Love.”

Kabir gives a warm hug and gently kisses Meera’s cheek before she leaves the house.

Just as Meera left the house, Kabir’s phone rang.

Kabir: “Hello!”

Man on the phone: “Sirji, we have made the arrangements as instructed by you. If you could, please come and see the arrangements by yourself and give us the approval for the final one.”

Kabir: “Haan Haan, I will come in the evening today.”

Kabir has been planning for a month now to surprise Meera on their 5th wedding anniversary. He has already booked the entire open rooftop restaurant for that special night and has planned to gift her a life-size smiling face sketch of her, which he had secretly been giving life to for almost a year now.

Meera and Kabir are together since their college days. Though they were quite opposite in nature that never held them back to enjoy themselves together. Meera was a go-to extrovert girl while Kabir was a silent guy and took time to open himself up to a new person. When they came together in a relationship, people used to say that fire and ice had come together. However, it never bothered either Meera or Kabir, as they enjoyed every bit of their friendship and always looked for reasons & occasions to laugh, enjoy, and have fun. Kabir never was that ‘silent Kabir’ in front of Meera. She somehow influenced him to see & experience life from a happy perspective. Since the time Kabir met Meera, he has been learning more about life and human relationships.

But lately, Kabir has been noticing a little change in the behavior of Meera. Once a happy-go-lucky girl, that always looked life through a smile, has turned into a work/office zombie. It has been months since they sat together and have a good laugh. She comes late and leaves home early. Kabir once tried to talk to her but she got a work call in between the conversation and their talk just ended with that.

Life & Regrets go hand in hand for almost all people in this world. No one remains immune to regrets, failures, and upsets in their life. Only a few times, we find a good soul who lives life without any regrets. We often listen to life motivators who tell us to live life without any regrets, but that is a distant dream and a hard to achieve dream for many mortals in this world. Most people often engrain themselves into exorbitant worldly things that give them immediate pleasures, while leaving behind the important life matters, people, and experiences, only to be reminded when it’s too late or when we have crossed a certain timeline or threshold in our human life from where returning back is not an easy thing to do, or re-experiencing the past is just impossible.

In life, people, most of the times, forget that life is with people, not without them.

My Muskurahat Life podcast is a small attempt to make you realize that life is to live with a smile on your face and not just only to survive with regrets.
