Disclaimer: Don’t regret later for the actions you take to satisfy your soul. Sometimes it is very difficult for you to do things that satisfy your soul as everyone is connected to each other in this world & thus a thing that seems correct for you may not be correct for others; meaning that an action that may satisfy you may have an adverse impact on others. Although this may not be applicable to every action you take. However, it is extremely necessary to watch out for any impact on stakeholders for the actions you take and minimize the impact on them. Just remember – “Better to assess before than to regret later.”
““Meera is in some troubled waters for a while and thus has lost all the energy to face or deal with the situation anymore. She does not know where & how to head or how to come out of that situation. She is feeling exhausted with all the responsibilities and workload. She wishes if someone could come and give her a tight hug to charge her up & give her enough energy to deal with the situation. Suddenly, her wish comes true when Kabir gives her a tight hug from the back while kissing her cheek. This simple and unexpected gesture from Kabir, her love partner, cheered Meera giving her butterflies in the stomach. The flying angels have done their job of satisfying the soul of Meera with what she likes the most, which has subsequently given her enough confidence and spirit to continue with her work where she had left before.””
Doesn’t this sound familiar? Haven’t we too had the same or similar desire to calm our mind or to satisfy our soul? Haven’t we tried to indulge ourselves in satisfying our soul?
‘The smell of rain droplets on dry sand/soil’, ‘Receiving the most desired gift at the most unexpected time’, ‘Watching Sunrise/Sunset’, ‘Fulfilling the long-desired food craving’, ‘An emotional hug from our nostalgic memory’, ‘Reaching the summit and witnessing the view from there’, and the list* goes on for the things that satisfy our soul; things that make us say “Wow!” or sometimes make us go speechless. Isn’t it?
Trying out things, that give satisfaction, makes us happy and our happy soul defines the health of our mind & body and determines if we have a ‘triple heart’:
One for the world
One for the family & love partner
One for self
Before you go further reading what actually Soul Satisfaction is, why do we need it, and how we can achieve it in this blog, let us give you a short experience of what soul satisfaction really feels like:
Imagine the face of one of your loved ones with your eyes closed.
Imagine them smiling.
Did you get a smile on your face too?
If no, then repeat the process.
If yes, then that’s Soul Satisfaction.
This is the power of smile & positivity.
Well..Well..Well… Let’s take a small detour to understand the actual meaning of Soul Satisfaction.
Our soul is deeply connected to our emotions. We are known to the world through the display of our emotions. Right from the time we take birth, our character is shaped by the experiences (or events) & the emotions we display at those moments or events. Be it our humbleness, our aggressiveness, or our poised nature, our emotions play a vital role in defining who we are & how others perceive us in their minds, and most importantly, how we see ourselves in the mirror. The majority of people do not want to see themselves in a bad light or in a negative shade when they introspect or when they are around others. Subconsciously, the majority of people tries to satisfy their soul through thoughts, emotions, and actions.
You must have read or heard this saying – “People take decisions with emotions (emotional brain) and then justify it with logic (rational brain).” Well, emotion is to satisfy the soul and logic is to satisfy the mind. Emotions can be one among the nine rasas, called NAVARSA. We display a range of emotions in our daily life as we are engrained with all the emotions (NAVARASA) a human can have. The only catch here is that people may have different emotions in a high-state and other emotions in a low-state.
Example: You may encounter people who are short-tempered and display their ‘anger’ emotion quite frequently. While another person is calm & composed in most situations. However, it does not mean that latter does not possess ‘anger’ emotion or the former does not possess ‘peace’ emotion. It is just hidden somewhere within them suppressed, maybe, by themselves or by the experiences that have built their character into something like that.
Therefore, as mentioned earlier, we satisfy our soul with the help of our emotions. We encounter events, take actions, have feelings, display emotions, & finally, our soul is satisfied or dissatisfied (if the events, actions, feelings, & emotions are negative or not to our likings).
We may feel ecstatic, full of adrenaline, have feelings of utter happiness, relaxation, serenity, or calmness during the soul-satisfying period. That’s Soul Orgasm or Soul Satisfaction.
Many of us are unaware of the fact that our body and brain release several hormones during the day that defines and dictates our moods, feelings, and emotions. These hormones are released when we encounter or experience things, people, or events during the day. They either make us go wild or make us the laziest person in the room.
You may have heard the saying that says, “You are what you eat and experience.” That’s true as when you eat or experience anything your body feels satisfied (or dissatisfied) and releases chemicals accordingly. These chemicals help us get the feelings or emotions required by our body during that particular event. Some of the chemicals or hormones are listed below:
Adrenaline - High Energy Hormone – Released during periods of stress on the body. It plays an important role in the fight-or-flight response of the body. Adrenaline makes you feel ‘alive’.
Testosterone, Estrogen - Sexual Hormone – Released when we find someone attractive or in love with someone. It helps in increasing your motivation and self-confidence.
Dopamine, Serotonin - Feel Good Hormone – Serotonin regulates your mood, digestion, sleep, and sexual drive while Dopamine helps to increase the motivation level and activate the pleasure center inside our brains.
Cortisol, Endorphins - Stress Relieving Hormone – Cortisol, released at times of stress, is required for a fight-or-flight response to perceived threats. Endorphins help in reducing pain and enhancing pleasure.
Oxytocin - Love Hormone – It causes feelings of love and closeness. Released when people snuggle up, have sex, or bond socially.
The essence of life is to be happy and let others be happy. The idea is to do things in life that satisfy your soul. Once the soul is satisfied, your mind is satisfied. And once the mind is satisfied, your body is satisfied releasing good and happy hormones for the benefit of your body. It can be another way round too: satisfy your body to satisfy your mind that satisfies your soul. In either way, you have to listen to the signals from your body, mind, or soul. Fulfilling the demands (in the limit) of soul, mind, and body could lead to a life free of misery and full of joyfulness.
The vision of Muskurahat is to support every individual lead a happy life, and happiness can only be achieved when the soul is satisfied to the core. (Although satisfying soul is quite complex when you have different responsibilities to be taken care of and several trade-offs to take in due process.) And this can be achieved if our three life-existential points (Soul, Mind, & Body) attain balance among themselves and with nature.
However, to balance our existence with nature, we do several things and provide balance to our mind, and to our body, but many a time we miss on providing what is required for our soul and therefore it creates an imbalance in our thoughts, decisions, actions, and life. By maintaining a balance among our mind, body, and soul we are helping ourselves live a happy and cheerful life.
There are ‘needs’, there are ‘wants’, and then there are ‘desires’. One is required to meet the basic requirements one deserves. Other is required to live a good life as per their choice and motivation levels. While the latter may make or break the life of a human.
Humans always desire of something that he/she does not have. These desires although necessary for the growth of human beings and humankind should be kept in check. If desires are not controlled, repercussions to oneself and to associated stakeholders are inevitable.
Be it needs, wants, or desires, people essentially do things that make them happy & satisfy their soul. When your soul is satisfied, you feel happy. Therefore, there is a famous saying that says, “Happiness is a state of mind”. These desires and feelings are transformed as bodily emotions through thoughts, decisions, and actions.
Soul Satisfaction starts when you indulge yourself in things that connect your Soul, Mind, & Body together.
According to us, there are no defined steps, processes, or hacks to satisfy one’s soul. We believe that everyone is different in their own way and has different spiritual and cosmic energy engrained in them, therefore it is dependent more on the individual level to satisfy one’s soul than following generalized soul-satisfying methods. The main essence here is to connect your Soul – Body – Mind together in order to enjoy the beautiful essence of your life.
Listed are some of the things you can do to satisfy your soul, however, it is all subjective, as mentioned earlier.
