Mir Castle 

Approaching Mir today everybody notices the outlines of a castle at a distance. It’s Mir Castle which great towers, tall walls and a three-storied palace look majestic. It is situated in Grodno region.The castle was founded by Jury Iljinich, a representative of a notable feudal family. It was first mentioned in the so-called Litovskaya metrica in 1531. Since 1568 Mir Castle was owned by the Radzivills who finished its building in the renaissance style.  Now it looks as a square-planned building with towers at the corners. Some architectural means, characteristic of the Belarusian Gothic, were used in Mir castle: Gothic bricklaying, division of walls with plastered niches of various forms, ornamental brick belts. Mir Castle is an architectural monument and has been included in the  UNESCO Heritage List since 2000.


Nesvizh Castle

The Castle of Nesvizh is one of the most outstanding architectural monuments of Belarus. It is situated in Minsk region. The mighty and beautiful architectural complex attracts huge attention of tourists, archaeologists, historians as it is a part of the ancient history of the country. The Italian architect Giovanni Bernardoni designed and built a stone castle in the16th century. For centuries it was the most advanced fort of Belarus, but  in the 18th century the castle was destroyed by Swedees raid. After the restoration the castle became  a symbol of Baroque. Today the castle looks very romantic: a huge construction in a harmonious combination with towers of various sizes and decorative adornments. The central building is decorated with attached piers, relief decorations, sculptural compositions and rich fretwork.  In 2005 the Architectural, Residential and Cultural Complex of the Radziwill family in Nesvizh was included in  the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Castle in Kossovo

Kossovo Palace of the Puslovskys is striking in its beauty. It is situated in Brest region. In 1944, due to a fire, it was damaged and practically nothing remained of the former luxury of the decoration of the castle. The architectural design of the palace complex was carried out by Frantisek Jaszholt. Interior decoration-Italian artist Marconi. Now work is underway on the reconstruction of the complex, it is impossible to get inside. But even wandering around will be enough to see the magestic towers, enjoy and feel the special atmosphere of this palace. Today the palace is still under reconstruction, although two halls have already been opened for visitors.

Lida Castle

This is Lida Castle. It was a very big and popular castle in the Eastern Europe in the Middle Ages. It is in the north-east of Grodno region. It was very important for Belarusian history because it was situated on the boarder of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. It was very big. It is hidden in the trees, but it looks very beautiful.
