For the virtual computer build, we were tasked with choosing parts virtually from a company that sells computer parts. I decided to build an over-the-top computer as if money were no object. Even my over-the-top computer wasn't probably as over the top as it could be. 😀 I went to Newegg and it took me awhile to decide how to navigate around the site. I eventually decided to move through the parts of the computer that we were supposed to include in the build. I have to admit that in the "old days" you used to pick more of the specs for your computer even if you were buying a whole computer from a company. I have forgotten some of that knowledge and this was a great reminder of those different parts of the computer.
I enjoyed this assignment much more than I thought I would originally. It was an excellent way to learn and remember the function of the main parts of a computer. Along the way I was able to learn a little bit about different specifications and why you might need different functionality for different types of activities. For example, the computer that a gamer will use is much different from a person who will primarily be word processing or doing written assignments.
