This course has really enhanced my technical skills. These are a few of the items that I have learned and that I will be able to use over and over in my life at home and at CCBC. In the computer build, I was reintroduced to many of the "ingredients" of what is in a computer. I am currently in the market for a new computer, so knowing what I am looking for will be very helpful. The information about Word and Excel seemed to be a central part of the class for me. I am pretty familiar with Word, but learned to use the headings and hierarchy of the Table of Contents, Headings, and Sub Headings. I fell in love with the citation manager which is in Word. For the Emerging Technology PowerPoint I used Word to save my references and then copied and pasted into the PowerPoint. The Excel was eye opening for me. My colleague makes his own Excel Spreadsheets and now I know more about how and why he does it. We are currently working on year round schedules so it is ideal to make a schedule for our campus and be able to sort out the relevant courses that I would like to look at. Even the projects that I was less interested in had skills for me to learn and practice. For the digital media page it finally dawned on me that I would need to upload the graphic to the Google Drive because I would never be able to upload the graphic from my One Drive. I was a slow learner and had to learn that lesson several times. I got faster at it anyway. I have learned about file management which for me is crucial. My One Drive currently is a mess, but slowly I have been working to fix that and make it better.
