This project is designed to help me understand how to find and ethically cite the types of digital media I use. As it becomes easier and easier to find and use various types of media, it is important that we know how to make sure the originator of the media gets credit for their work.
This image of a match comes from the OER text book that I assembled for my non majors chemistry class here at CCBC. It is a copyright Shutterstock which is where I found it. In the first chapter of the OER we talk about chemical and physical properties.
This is an animation that I got from searching chemistry giphys. It is supposed to represent the Bohr model of the atom. The creator is called bigblueboo.
This is the citation given on the website where I found the giphy.
I really wanted to find a wav file of an old windows sound, but I could only find them on squeezy looking websites. The one that I found is a bit mysterious and interesting sounding which I really liked.

There is a group in England who set out to make videos of every element on the periodic chart using video. I just love these videos. The narrator is a stereotypical science guy, from his bushy hair to his lab coat tie. They do many demonstrations that it would be impossible for me to do in class. They generate a lot of excitement about what is going on. This is a pretty cool party trick if you can get some hydrogen gas and bubble it through soap solution.

This was an interesting assignment for me. Some of the media types I was pretty familiar with and some I was less familiar with. I embed YouTube videos all the time and so that was pretty easy for me. The animation and the audio were the most difficult for me. The animation wouldn't have been as much trouble except I did forget I was saving in Microsoft when I needed to be saving in my Google drive.
