For Parents

High school goes by so fast.

You only have a few more years to influence your teen before he/she leaves home. Now is the time to help them establish healthy habits for life, like biking and walking.

If you've been driving your teen to school, this is the perfect time to stop. High schoolers benefit from the increased self-reliance and confidence that come with getting themselves to school independently. If you live within a mile of school, your teen can easily walk. Additionally most MVHS families live within easy biking distance and even if your teen has a license, driving often doesn't save much time over biking. The bus is a great option too since it goes right to the MVHS campus.

By helping your teen set up a fun, active commute routine, you're promoting their physical health, mental wellness, academic performance, and environmental responsibility.

Ultimately, it's your call. You control the car keys!
