The VTA Bus 81 is super convenient because it stops right at MVHS at Truman and Bryant Avenues. VTA runs extra buses for MVHS students before and after school.
Route map and schedule are current as of August 2018. For updated info visit the VTA Route 81 webpage.
For more information on exact boarding locations or help with trip planning, call VTA information at (800) 894–9908 or visit the VTA website. You can also see all the bus stops (in addition to the major stops listed above) on Google Maps.
All VTA buses are equipped with bike racks on the front so you can combine biking and bus riding to get to and from school.
See the VTA bike webpage for info.
The Youth (ages 5-18) bus fare is $1 per ride or $30 for a monthly pass. Monthly passes are available with a reloadable Youth Clipper Card that can be ordered free of charge at www.clippercard.com.
The school district provides free bus passes for students who qualify based on household income and who live two or more miles from school. You can get an application for a free bus pass at the Finance Office.
Safety tips for walking to and from the bus stop:
1. Cross the street only at intersections.
2. Always look both ways and make sure motorists see you before you cross.
3. If walking on a street without sidewalks, walk facing oncoming traffic (generally the left side of the road).
4. Don't fall prey to the modern ill of distracted walking! Instead, enjoy your walk screen- and headphone-free.
